My first lecture at SEEC will be on Teaching "young adults", otherwise known as "teens". They can be both terribly energizing and terribly frustrating! I'll do my best to give you some tools to make your classroom a more "teenager" friendly place.
The lecture will focus on 4 components.
1. Identifying what is unique about teaching Korean teenagers (or any nationality) English. What are the challenges. See the 12 suggestions of Anderson and complete the task.
2. Identifying and discussing the digital divide in most cases between teachers and students.
3. Highlighting and demonstrating generic lessons that work with teens. Music / Movies / ME!!!!
4. Designing and developing a 10 min lesson activity using the Engage / Study / Activate lesson plan. Sharing that lesson idea!
Here's the TTS (text to speech ) of Anderson's article, Teaching Teenagers. Get audio like this for any text at iSpeech.

I"d like you to comment and discuss --
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST PROBLEM TEACHING TEENAGERS? HOW MIGHT YOU CHANGE THINGS TO MAKE IT BETTER?
Thanks and look forward to meeting everyone.
